Pest Control · Typically $40/mo recurring – $5k+ one-time

Marketing for pest control companies

Nobody shops around for a wasp nest. Pest control is the most urgent, least price-sensitive call in home services — and the whole business is really about converting that one panicked call into a recurring plan.

What homeowners search

  • exterminator near me
  • bed bug treatment cost
  • wasp nest removal
  • mice in house
  • termite inspection

These are the intents we build campaigns and pages around for pest control — and the questions your AI agent is trained to answer on the first reply.

The actual problem

What makes pest control different to market.

  1. 01

The call is emotional and the window is minutes

Someone who has just seen a mouse, a bed bug, or a wasp nest above their door calls until a human answers and hires that person. Price barely enters it. Missing that call is the entire loss.

  2. 02

One-time treatments are a fraction of the value

The business is built on recurring plans, not single visits. Every one-time treatment is a conversion opportunity, and the highest-return automation in this trade is the sequence that turns it into a subscription.

  3. 03

    Seasonal pests need seasonal campaigns

Ants in spring, wasps and mosquitoes in summer, rodents in autumn, and year-round bed bugs and cockroaches. Running one generic "pest control" campaign all year is how budget gets wasted on the wrong intent in the wrong month.

  4. 04

Churn quietly eats the recurring base

Customers cancel when they stop seeing pests — which is exactly when the service is working. Communicating value between visits is what protects the recurring revenue that makes the business worth something.

Climate, season, and competition

Pest Control is not the same job in every market.

We work across Canada and the United States, and the plan is genuinely different in each market. The clearest split is climate — anyone selling you the same playbook for Chicago and Phoenix has not worked in one of them.

Cold-winter markets

Toronto has significant, well-publicised bed bug and rodent pressure in dense multi-unit housing, which drives constant urgent search volume. Autumn rodent intrusion as temperatures fall is a reliable annual season. Ontario licensing and pesticide regulations shape what can be advertised and how, and homeowners increasingly ask about pet-safe and low-toxicity options.

Sunbelt markets

Year-round activity with a much broader pest set: fire ants, scorpions, termites, mosquitoes, and roaches. Termite protection is closer to a standard homeowner expectation than an upsell. Mosquito control is a large seasonal recurring category. Longer season means higher achievable recurring revenue per household.

When the work exists

Highly cyclical and pest-specific in both markets, but Texas has a far longer active season and year-round categories — fire ants, scorpions, termites, mosquitoes — that Ontario simply does not. GTA demand concentrates from spring through autumn with rodent work spiking as temperatures drop. Bed bugs are aggressively urban and non-seasonal in both.

Pest Control marketing by city

Each of these is written for that specific market — local housing stock, local seasonality, local competition — not a template with the city name swapped.
